The Marsland Defender chassis manufactured by GKN Wheels & Structures, supplied with an insurance accepted GKN Certificate of Authenticity confirming the chassis are constructed using the same materials, processes and quality control techniques as were stipulated at the time of original equipment manufacturer.

Type approved and crash tested.

All Defender chassis are built to 2016 type/latest specification, including rear cross member and A-frame cross member. GKN pressed section main legs/rails made from 2mm steel with 3mm stiffeners fitted and spot welded internally for added strength, effectively giving you 5mm of material where most needed. Chassis supplied with bolt in gearbox cross member, rear cross member to body bracket, A-frame to chassis bushes including fixings. Power steering pipe, fuel filter, fuel tank and fuel line riv nuts fitted to chassis. All holes drilled and tapped excluding rear tow pack holes. Galvanised as standard.

Galvanising Update

Marsland have changed their post galvanising passivation process. This is due to a new industry-wide regulation that prohibits the use of the chemical TIB Finish CH06, which was previously used to give the chassis a protective coating against water staining.
An upgrade to the passivation tank has been made and an alternative polycoat finish will be used. This new coating still ensures the same high level of durability and protection, but the final product will have a more natural galvanised finish which means, products will no longer have the shiny finish that usually lasts around 12 weeks.
Marsland products will continue to be hot-dip galvanised to the highest standards BS EN ISO 1461, and their longevity will remain unaffected.
